This utility updates the Sony® Communication Center application to improve operating system compatibility and resolve the issue where there is loss of the faxing functionality.

Important Notes

WARNING!!: After upgrading to the Microsoft® Windows® 98 operating system, it is very important to install this Sony Communication Center application update before using the faxing functionalities within the Sony Communication Center application. If this update is not installed the following issues will occur:
o A total loss of the faxing functionalities with this application.
o This application will be unstable.
o There will be unpredictable problems.
* During the installation of this file, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
* To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
* It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.
* Ensure you print a copy of the README.TXT file at the end of this installation for reference.

Download and Installation Instructions

1. Download the COM_CNTR.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
2. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double click the COM_CNTR.EXE file to begin the installation.
3. At the "Communication Center Installation Window", click Next
4. At the "Software License Agreement" window, click Yes .
5. At the "Choose Destination Location" window, click Next .

6. NOTE: You will be prompted to save all of your old messages. At the "Communication Center Installation" window, select check box and click Next .
7. Click Next at Select Program Folder Window.

8. NOTE: You will be prompted to save settings for the default printer. At the "Default Printer window, select the check box, then click Next.
9. At the Start Copying Files Window, click Next.

NOTES:
* The Sony Communication Center utility will start the software upgrade.
* You will be prompted to restart your computer.
10. At the "Communication Center - Restart" window, click Yes.

After the computer restarts, the installation of the Sony Communication Center software is complete.
