This utility resolves the issue where the computer will not return from Hibernate or Suspend mode.

Important Notes

* Before installing this update, be sure the computer is running from AC power. If the installation of the BIOS is interrupted by power loss, the computer may not operate correctly or at all!
* Before performing this BIOS update, you must have the Sony Notebook Setup upgrade installed on your computer. Otherwise, when entering the Notebook setup utility, an error will appear stating an "Unknown BIOS version 'R021630S1". To avoid this error, click the link above an follow the instructions in the text file to download and install the executable update.
* To install this upgrade, the floppy drive will need to be installed in the computer. You will also need to create a bootable floppy disk to receive the BIOS update files. To prepare a floppy disk for use with this update, please refer to the Create A Bootable Floppy Disk procedure.
* To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
* It is highly recommended to print out these instructions and the "NT Drivers install.txt" file that will appear as a reference during the installation process.

Download and Installation Instructions

1. Download the BIOSR216.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
2. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the BIOSR216.EXE file.
3. Pay close attention to the provided information during the installation and print out a copy of the Readme.txt file which appears toward the end of the installation for instructions to complete the upgrade.
