This utility will upgrade the firmware of the PCWA-R1 Broadband Router Unit component of the Sony VAIO® Wireless LAN Router Access Point. This utility adds the following functions:

* Bridge function
* Dynamic DNS Client function
* View Log by category

Important Notes

* Before installing the firmware upgrade, it is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to review the "Wireless Broadband Router Operating Instructions."
* While updating the software, do not power off the PCWA-R1 Broadband Router Unit or the device may be rendered inoperable.
* Do not set the proxy setting on the web browser.
* During the installation of this file, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
* To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
* It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.
* If either a "Severe" error or "Software Status" message box appears, please check the list of Known Issues .

Download and Installation Instructions

1. Download the SO-Q01000C03C404US.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
2. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double click the SO-Q01000C03C404US.EXE file.
3. At the "Win-Zip Self-Extractor - SO-Q01000C03C404US.EXE" message box, click Unzip to extract the files to the C:\WINNT\TEMP directory or a directory of your choice.
NOTE: If you prefer to install the software in a different directory, click the Browse button. Navigate to the desired directory and click OK, then click Next.
4. At the "1 files(s) unzipped successfully" box, click OK.
5. At the "Self-Extractor" message box, click close.
NOTE: The following file has now been extracted to the directory selected in step 5:
* PCWA-R1020100.BIN

Continue with the steps below to install the firmware upgrade. If you have not done so, it is also HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to review the "Wireless Broadband Router Operating Instructions."
