This utility will upgrade the firmware of the PCWA-R1 Broadband Router Unit component of the Sony VAIO® Wireless LAN Router Access Point. This utility adds the following functions:

* Bridge function
* Dynamic DNS Client function
* View Log by category

How To Update

1. Launch the Web browser, type http://192.168.11.1, the PCWA-R1 Broadband Router Unit default IP address, and press ENTER.
2. At the "Home" page, in the "Administrative Settings" section, click Management.
3. At the "Management" page, in the "Firmware Update" section, click Update.
4. At the "Firmware Update" page, click "Browse" and navigate to the directory to which the Firmware update was saved, select the PCWA-R1020100.BIN file, then click Next. Do not select a file other than a firmware file for the PCWA-R1 Broadband Router Unit. If you do so, the device may no longer operate normally.
NOTE: The browser window will not change until the firmware file is completely transferred to the router unit. Depending on the rate of transfer this could take several minutes.
5. At the "Firmware was successfully transferred into temporary memory in the Router Unit" screen, click Execute Setup to start the firmware update. Do not power off the PCWA-R1 Broadband Router Unit during the firmware update.

After the update is complete, the PCWA-R1 Broadband Router Unit will restart automatically.

Firmware Upgrade Verification

1. Launch the Web browser, type http://192.168.11.1, the PCWA-R1 Broadband Router Unit default IP address, and press ENTER.
2. At the "Home" page, in the "Router Unit Status" section, click Status.
3. At the "Status" page, in the "Other Information" section, confirm the that the "Current Firmware" version is 2.1.0.
4. If the firmware version is not 2.1.0, you maybe viewing a cache file of the page. Press the F5 key or click "Refresh" in the browser window to view the most current page.

NOTE: If the firmware version is not 2.1.0, please download and install this firmware update again.
