The Picture Package® version 1.0.x – 1.7.x software supplied with the camcorder is not compatible with Microsoft® Windows Vista® operating system. Sony is offering Picture Motion Browser version 2.0.13 software as an alternative to use with the camcorder and Windows Vista operating system.

Features of Picture Motion Browser version 2.0.13 software:

* Calendar view to view and manage imported images by date.
* Video Trimming function to cut a movie into segments or to save a scene as a still image.
* Importing/Exporting movies from/to a tape by connecting the camcorder to the computer via i.LINK® cable.
NOTE: The export function is only available for MiniDV® camcorders. You cannot export to a tape in Digital8® camcorders.

Notes on using Picture Motion Browser version 2.0.13 software instead of Picture Package software:

* You cannot import movies from a tape using the USB cable (USB streaming / DV streaming).
* To import/export movies from/to a tape, you need to connect the camcorder with an i.LINK cable.
* The function to automatically create a slideshow with effects and music (Picture Package Auto Slide / Producer) is not available.
NOTE: You can view images as a slideshow in Picture Motion Browser.
* The function to create a Video CD is not available. To burn imported movies to a DVD disc, please use other DVD authoring software.

Important Notes

* This software can only be downloaded and installed using a computer with Microsoft® Windows Vista® operating system.
* To access this software download you will need the following information:
  o The camcorder model number
  o The camcorder serial number
  o The part number from the software installation CD-ROM supplied with the camcorder
* Starter and 64-bit versions of Windows Vista operating system are not supported.
* Installing this software requires at least 350MB free space on the computer hard drive.
* The original software installation CD-ROM supplied with the camcorder is required to complete the installation of this software.
* During the installation of this file, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
* To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
* It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.
