About the Upgrade of the HX-A1M Firmware

The following functions were added by Ver. 1.10 of the firmware.
Please read this in conjunction with the owner’s manual/operating instructions for this unit.

  • To check your firmware version, from the Image App screen, tap Menu > [Camera setup] > [Device info. display].
  • Update the version if it is earlier than Ver. 1.10.
  • To update the firmware version of this unit, copy the update file to the microSD card, insert the card into this unit, and then press and hold the power button while pressing and holding the recording mode/Wi-Fi button and recording start/stop button.
  • Use either of the following microSD card to update the firmware version.
    (microSDXC card is not supported.)
    - microSD card
    - microSDHC card
  • Before copying the update file, from the Image App screen, tap Menu > [Camera setup] > [Format] to format the microSD card.
    After the microSD card is formatted, all the data on it will be erased and never be recovered. Save your important data to another device such as a PC in advance.
  • Before updating the version, charge the battery sufficiently.

The following function has been added to the Setup menu:

For settings on the Setup menu, tap Menu > [Camera setup] > respective items on the "Image App" screen.

  • Displayed items may differ depending on your OS or "Image App" version.

This reduces screen flicker and horizontal bars that appear when recording is performed under certain lighting conditions such as fluorescent lights.

  • Select a setting that matches the power supply frequency of your region. ([60Hz]/[50Hz])
  • You may not see the full effect depending on the recording conditions.
