This is the firmware updater for the LS-40/Coolscan IV Scanner for a Macintosh computer system.

Firmware 1.1 for the LS-40 corrects a problem where Macintosh computers running Mac OS 9.0.4 or earlier would fail to start if an attempt was made to restart or start the computer after the scanner was turned on. In some cases the Nikon Scan interface would not appear. To check the current version of firmware in your Coolscan product: Launch Nikon Scan. When the main scanner control window opens the firmware version will be displayed in the main title bar.

To run the firmware updater, one of the following Operating Systems must be used: 8.6, 9.0, 9.1x, 9.2x. OS X is not supported
